Our Act
The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) is a statutory corporation established under the National Youth Council of Malawi Act (No. 22 of 1996). As outlined in the Act, NYCOM’s key functions include: (i) developing, promoting, encouraging, and regulating all forms of youth activities in Malawi; (ii) registering youth organizations; (iii) organizing and promoting scholarships for youth workers, members of youth organizations, and officials; (iv) establishing guidelines for cooperation between the Government of Malawi and other stakeholders and agencies involved in youth-related programs; and (v) fostering the promotion of training courses for the youth. The law, therefore, mandates NYCOM to coordinate, regulate, promote, and facilitate youth programs in Malawi in a transparent, innovative, efficient, and cost-effective manner, utilizing various tools and regulations that guide our operations.
